Master’s in English Language Studies (M.A.)
English Language Studies (Translation / Cultural Studies) is an interdisciplinary, postgraduate program that develops students’ literary appreciation, cross cultural awareness and translation skills to further specialise in translation or cultural studies. This unique program will focus on developing your ability to communicate with a target audience across cultures.
You will also learn about theories, techniques and professional translation tools. You will develop your own personal cross-cultural awareness, literary appreciation, and interpretation skills in context, allowing you to translate work of different disciplines accurately and creatively from English into Arabic and vice versa while being fully aware of the cultural background of the target language .
This innovative MA degree focuses on academic research work. You will be able to develop theoretical understanding and approaches, which could be informed by studies in transcultural and literary studies. The program includes both core and elective units to fit your interests and aspirations.
In the end, you will write a dissertation that focuses on your area of specialization in cultural or translation topics.
