Vision - الرؤية:

The faculty of Mass Communication in October University for Modern Sciences and Arts is one of the pioneering institutions on the educational, academic and community-service levels nationally and regionally.

 

كلية الإعلام بجامعة أكتوبر للعلوم الحديثة والآداب من الكليات الرائدة في التخصص تعليمياً وبحثياً وخدمياً، علي المستوي القومي والإقليمي.

Mission - الرسالة:

The faculty of Mass Communication in partnership with British universities offers educational system coping with advancements in different specializations and meeting the job market requirements to prepare a graduate for qualified employment and entrepreneurship. The faculty takes part in applied scientific research, contributes to community services, develops the skills of its stakeholders and students, and abides by the core values of the quality standards.

Faculty’s Strategic Goals - الأهداف الاستراتيجية

The college's strategic goals are inspired by the university's strategic goals, and the college works to achieve its mission by implementing the following goals:

 

• The first strategic goal

Developing the educational system to keep pace with digital and professional media innovations in the labor market and spread creativity and entrepreneurship concept.

 

• The second strategic goal

Conducting research and creating postgraduate programs to serve scientific and societal needs in the field of media.

 

• The third strategic goal

Organizing a number of community events and media convoys to serve community issues and directing graduation projects in all college departments to serve these issues.

 

• Fourth strategic goal

Developing human resources and supporting facilities for the college and developing effective methods for communicating with students in accordance with digital technology.

 

 

:الأهداف الاستراتيجية للكلية مستوحاه من الأهداف الاستراتيجية للجامعة وتعمل الكلية على تحقيق رسالتها من خلال تطبيق الأهداف التالية

الهدف الاستراتيجي الأول

تطوير المنظومة التعليمية بما يواكب المستحدثات الإعلامية الرقمية والمهنية في سوق العمل ونشر ثقافة الابداع وريادة الأعمال.

الهدف الاستراتيجي الثانى

إجراء أبحاث وإنشاء برامج للدراسات العليا لخدمة الاحتياجات العلمية والمجتمعية في مجال الإعلام.

الهدف الاستراتيجي الثالث

تنظيم عدد من الفعاليات المجتمعية والقوافل الإعلامية لخدمة قضايا المجتمع وتوجيه مشروعات التخرج بجميع أقسام الكلية لخدمة هذه القضايا.

الهدف الاستراتيجي الرابع

تطوير الموارد البشرية والتسهيلات الداعمة للكلية واستحداث أساليب فعالة للتواصل مع الطلاب بما يتفق مع التكنولوجيا الرقمية.

MSA University - Faculty of Mass Communication - Practical Training
 

MSA University's Faculty of Mass Communication prioritizes the advancement of MCOM Studios, integrating state-of-the-art technology into photography and montage.
The internal training program encompasses four advanced studios: News Production, Screen Production, On Air Radio Production, and Podcasting.
Notably, the Screen Production studio employs a Tri-caster device, enabling students to shoot TV shows with virtual backgrounds. In the realm of montage, two well-equipped labs with Apple devices facilitate creative editing.
Emphasizing real-world preparedness, the faculty ensures external practical training through partnerships with renowned media institutions, including press corporations, advertising agencies, and broadcasting companies.
These collaborations provide students with internships, a crucial avenue for honing skills and staying attuned to industry demands.
In essence, the Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University is committed to delivering a comprehensive education that aligns with contemporary industry standards, preparing students to excel in the ever-evolving field of mass communication.

Professor Dr. Amany Fahmy serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication since September 2019. Before joining MSA, Professor Dr. Fahmy was the head of the English section at the Faculty of Mass Communication - Cairo University for five years (2014-2019).

She also served as the supervisor of television production training at Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University for 8 years (2009-2016)

Professor Dr. Fahmy doctoral dissertation was a theoretical and analytical Study for the Egyptian Feature Films During the 1980s.

Professor Dr. Fahmy’s mission is to maintain the highest standards of education for communication scholars. She also inspires her students to pursue their passion in media field & helps them to acquire creative abilities and commitments to lifelong learning.

Professor Dr. Fahmy’s research interest revolves around new trends in studying media (media& gender, health communication, political communication & new interactive media developments).

Professor Dina has joined MSA in Fall 2023. She is one of the Board of Directors of (the Agency for the Marketing Research) in Cairo University. She has a solid experience in various areas in the higher education sector as she taught in several Arab Universities. In 2014, she was selected as a Jury in the National Awards for Saudi Media. Additionally, she worked as a Media Consultant for various institutions in KSA. Her main focus research areas are in International advertising, Consumer behavior, Globalization, Social media and Consumer empowerment and she has a lot of researches in these fields.

● Canadian International College (CIC): Vice Dean of Mass Communication School and Director of Quality Assurance Unit.

● Faculty of Mass Communication - Cairo University: Director of Alumni Unit -Academic Coordinator of the English Division -Member of the Board of Directors of the (Agency for the Marketing Research)- Member of the Council Board of Quality Unit Directors.

Professor Dr. ElTarabishi has 35 years of experience, teaching across Egypt’s public and private universities, including: The American University in Cairo, Assiut University, Ain Shams University, Al-Azhar University, Arab Academy, Misr International University, and Information Technology Institute. Professor Dr. ElTarabishi has led the Journalism department at MSA university since 2000.

Professor Dr. ElTarabishi Master Thesis was entitled “The Analyses of the Cartoons in Al-Ahram Newspaper Before and after the Lifting of Press Censorship”. Her PhD thesis entitled “The Role of the Egyptian Press in initiating the 52 Revolution in Egypt” covering the period from 1942-1952.

Professor Dr. ElTarabishi teaches a number of media courses such as: Introduction to Mass Communication, History of the Egyptian Press, Organizational Communication, Persuasive Communication, Media Planning, Integrated Marketing Communication, Mass Media Theories and Introduction to Advertising and Public Relations. Prof. ElTarabishi has supervised many PhD Dissertations and served as an external judge on many others. Prof ElTarabishi attended and participated in many International, Regional and local conferences.

Professor Dr. ElTarabishi objective is to improve the quality of education and continuously upgrading and advancing teaching methodology and helping students to acquire high level of education and open up a brightening and successful future career.

Professor Dr. Hussein has been working at MSA since 2015. His experience in the academic sector surpasses 40 years. Professor Dr. Hussein has founded the Department of mass communication in several Arab countries, such as King Abdel Aziz El-Saud in Jeddah and The Kuwait University in Kuwait. He was the Dean of faculty of mass communication at Cairo university from 1981 to 1984.

Professor Dr. Hussein’ s doctoral dissertation tackled the role of advertising in Egyptian press.  Professor Dr. Hussein wrote more than 15 books and 30 research papers on research methodology and the advancement of artistic, psychological, and financial aspects in the advertising agency.

Professor Dr. Hussein has also supervised more than 80 PhD and MA dissertations in Egypt and across the Arab World. His research interests cover a range of topics including the evolution of advertising in Egyptian society, methodology in communication research, and the media role in social development.

Professor Dr. Hussein’s mission is to advance the methods used in teaching mass communication courses and to guarantee that the pedagogy applied at MSA is competitive by international standards. Currently, he is working with other colleagues to create a scientific journal for communication and to establish post-graduate studies in communication at MSA.
